Comanche Nation Fair

The Comanche Nation Fair is the largest Comanche Nation event held annually. The three day event features a parade, powwow, concert and numerous other activities which celebrate the Comanche Nation.

Crowds of people filled the area to participate in this year’s events and many were surprised and excited to catch a glimpse of this year’s special guest Johnny Depp. When asked what brought him to the event, Depp gestured towards LaDonna Harris and smiled.

Lindsay Early, the Intern to the Comanche Nation Chairman, shared the significance of Depp’s attendance.

“Johnny Depp has been adopted by LaDonna Harris as an honorary┬áComanche Nation Tribal member,” said Early. “It is customary in accordance to Comanche customs to adopt people into the tribe.”

LaDonna Harris is noted for being an activist for all Native American people. Harris is the founder of the Americans for Indian Opportunity, a national non-profit organization which seeks to create new avenues for international Indigenous interaction.
